Originally from Northwest Indiana, Josie Tolin currently lives in Atlanta, where she is the Fiction Fellow at Emory University. Her short stories are featured or forthcoming in The Best American Short Stories 2026, Oxford American, The Iowa Review, The Rumpus, Michigan Quarterly Review, Five Points, and elsewhere. Her work has received support from Sewanee Writers Conference, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, The Hambidge Center, the Oxford American Debut Fiction Contest, the Inaugural Rumpus Prize, and more. Her in-progress story collection, GATHER THE ANIMALS, was shortlisted for the 2025 Granum Prize. She is also at work on a novel.
